Variety:

Approx 500 seeds

Sowing:

Sow your parsley seeds shallow at just .5cm deep or they should be planted 25-30cm apart.

Parsley is slow to germinate so be patient. It can take between 3-6 weeks for seedlings to start showing. Keeping the soil consistently moist will aid germination.

Seeds can be sown between March and April for indoor planting or between April to end June for outdoor sowing.

Harvesting:

Parsley will typically be ready to harvest after around 70-90 days.

It is usually ready to harvest when around 6-8 inches tall or when there is roughly 5-10 main stems showing.

Cutting the bigger leaves or stems near the bottom is best as it ensures a continuous ongoing supply throughout the season.

Parsley is best harvested in the morning as this is the time the leaves are most flavorful and contain the most oils.

Information:

Parsley prefers fertile, well draining soil that remains consistently moist as a lack of watering will cause it to bolt.

Parsley does well in full sun but can do well also in partial shade. The cooler the position, the slower the growth.

Parsley prefers a soil ph of between 6 - 7ph.

Parsley is an easy to grow herb and does just as well in pots as in the ground.

Nutritional Information:

Parsley is rich in Vitamins A, C and K as well as folic acid.

It is considered a low calorie superfood and is full of antioxidants.

Fun Fact:

Years ago, parsley was used by the Greeks and the Romans, not as a food but as a source of medicine. It was taken to help urinary tract infections as well as preventing kidney stones and it flushed out toxins.
